I cannot believe its been a year since Joanne's passing. I will always think of Joanne as an "Angel on earth." Her smile and kind words would brighten anyone's day. Joanne was a true friend and supporter of the chelmsford police department as well as a good friend to my family. Joanne was an angel and even though I only knew her a very short time, we were like old friends. I would see her at Market Basket. She always had a smile, a kind word and she lit up the room. I know that she is in a safe and peaceful place without worry. My condolences to all of you.

My boys and I will never forget Joanne. We are customers at Market Basket and we would always look forward to seeing "Miss Joanne" at the checkout each week. She always had a warm smile and a hug for me and my boys. Even though we would only see each other at the store, she had a place in our heart and she felt like family to us. There are truly no words that would be great enough to describe Joanne. She was truly an angel and completely good person that put smiles on everyone she met. I am so saddened at the loss of this amazing person. I first met her when I was in elementary school at Westlands. And fortunately, my interaction with her continued for another 30+ years. I was so sorry to hear about Joanne's passing. I wanted to write to let her family know that Joanne always made my boys so happy when we saw her at Market Basket. Even if we were not in her line, she would always run over and give them a kiss and a ton of stickers :) They called her "our Market Basket friend". I met Joanne while she was working at Market Basket. She worked with my late husband John Cormier and Son Andrew Kimber. She was a very special and loving person. She used to bring my son hot chocolate in the winter time because he worked outside at Market Basket and she always gave me a hug to carry home for John during his illness. There is another angel in heaven for sure because Joanne was an angel. I will always miss her warm smile and great hugs. Rest in Peace.

Joanne was like an angel to me. When I too was suffering from cancer and required two major surgeries right after the birth of my only son, Brent, Joanne provided selfless care and help for both myself and my son Joanne would take Brent to her home to play with Joey and her whole family. She also shared her meatballs and that became my son's favorite food. She was so energetic and loving. I was fortunate to receive Joanne's care for both my son and myself. It was ten years later that I had my own stage 3 battle with melanoma. I did not realize that was also Joanne's battle. I will always have positive and thankful memories of Joanne. God Bless!

Mrs. O'Neill will always hold a near and very dear place in my heart. She was a very special friend to me, and I am honored that I ever had the pleasure of knowing such a beautiful and amazing person. My deepest sympathies for the whole family. I know how much of a family person Mrs O was and how she would walk thru a wall for all of you. She may not be with you in person any longer...but you can bet she will be looking after all of you and will be your guardian Angel. Keep her close to your hearts. She was captured in a documentary about our baseball team and that will be kept forever at the Baseball hall of fame. I mention this because she was a Hall of Fame mother for sure!
